Maria Isenia (Bea Kalukrei) <\/b><\/p>

\u00a0\u2013Maria Isenia, affectionately known as Bea Kalukrei, was a star singer who lived and worked in Punda.<\/strong><\/h4>

She was a master of words and earned a lot of money through her singing (likely referring to tips or payment for her performances).<\/p>

Bea, along with Ana L\u00f2l\u00f2, Anita Abrik\u00f3, Shon Minta Kor\u00e1, Betorin, Resmonda, and others, dominated Tamb\u00fa singing in the first half of this century. She inspired many singers, one of whom was her successor, the talented Shon Kol\u00e1. Bea impressed Shon Kol\u00e1 so much that he started attending every tamb\u00fa where she sang. From there, he began to respond to her songs.<\/p>

Experience has shown that responding to songs is an excellent school for learning to sing, provided one has sufficient talent and dedication.<\/p>

Bea Kalukrei: Shon Kol\u00e1’s Mentor in Tamb\u00fa <\/b><\/p>

As previously noted, in the past, particularly in the first half of the 20th century, tamb\u00fa singers were predominantly women<\/b>. While most of these great singers from Punda, Banda Riba, and Banda ‘Bou have passed away, Bea Kalukrei <\/b>stands out as one of the most prominent.<\/p>

Shon Col\u00e1<\/a> considers Bea as his teacher<\/b>, not because she formally taught him to sing, but because he gained most of his experience by observing and performing with her. Shon Kol\u00e1’s tamb\u00fa experience primarily comes from Punda, specifically Hanch’i Punda.<\/p>

Shon Kol\u00e1 first met and admired Bea when he was 15, at a tamb\u00fa event in Duminguitu on a Sunday. The following Monday, while Shon Kol\u00e1 was working a carpentry job at Casa Bernardo, he opened a back door and came face-to-face with Bea in Hanchi Bientu.<\/p>

Bea asked him, “My child, I think I saw you somewhere yesterday.” Shon Kol\u00e1 replied, “Yes, I saw you yesterday at the tamb\u00fa in Duminguitu.”<\/p>

From that moment on, the two became inseparable in their musical pursuits. Initially, Shon Kol\u00e1 would respond to Bea’s songs wherever she sang, which allowed him to gain considerable experience. Later, Bea began to respond to Shon Kol\u00e1’s songs.<\/p>

Shon Kol\u00e1 and Bea Kalukrei also recorded together<\/b>. Bea recorded “Waya den kur\u00e1” under the HOYCO label <\/b>at 78 speed.
